Taxi Transfers

Taxis from Corfu Airport for Independent Travellers

At the airport there are always taxis available for hire. Make sure you tell the driver you want to go to Agios Georgios NORTH as there is another one in the south of the island (not an uncommon mistake).

The charge to Agios Georgios north for 2018 should be about 55-60 Euros (one-way) if booked locally or through the family firm mentioned below . Maximum passengers: 4 adults with luggage. (Beware if hiring casually on arrival at the airport as instances of gross over-charging ...well over 80 euros...have been reported ). Ask the taxi driver first for his price.

For security it is suggested you book the taxi before travelling and you will be met at the airport Arrivals gate by your taxi driver showing your name on a card. This can be arranged by the hotel or apartment owners using proven local firms (providing flight details are telephoned through a few days before you travel).

It is therefore recommended you contact your accommodation owners and ask them to arrange a taxi for you.

INTERNET COMPANIES: Beware if pre-booking on the Internet with a company you do not know ! Some world-wide companies which come out very high in (sponsored) Search Engine results can quote about 85 euros (2015) for the journey !!!
Most people would rather pay the 50-55 euros quoted above and save over 60 euros on a return trip, so BOOK LOCALLY

If you wish to book the taxi yourself one often used by local hotels, and the web site owner, is Rouvas Taxi Service operated by local taxi drivers, Vasilis and Vagellis Rouvas, who can be contacted on 0030 697 5744947 Contacting Greece

Vasilis can be emailed on rts@iqnet.gr

If travelling to another resort then the same advice is given. All taxis are based at the taxi rank in Sidari and are convenient for any of the northern resorts in Corfu.

The maximum per taxi is 4 passengers with luggage so if there are more persons then 2 taxis will be needed. If so, just ask it will be arranged. For larger groups a mini-bus may be preferred in which case the new service 'My Corfu Driver' owned by local man Vaggelis Rouvas can be considered. His new luxury vehicles are equipped with minibars and smart leather upholstery. These multi-seaters are a cheaper option to 2 taxis.
