Air Conditioning:
Wall-mounted Air conditioning units are fitted in all rooms and may be used
subject to an administrative charge. Changing Money: We
are happy to change money to and from Euros for our guests at most favourable
rates. Safety Deposit Boxes : These are available if
required. Internet Access: WIFI is available and there
are desktop computers in the entrance lobby. There are also 2 Internet cafes at
the beach. Nearest Chemist: Agros village is 10
minutes by car. Nearest Hospital: A small modern
Medical Centre in Agros village, but the main hospital is in Corfu town.
Newspapers: Newspapers in several languages can be bought
in the shops near the beach. Water Quality: The water
is considered safe but most English visitors drink bottled water available
everywhere. Weather: Corfu has its share of showers,
some heavy, particularly in early and late season, but the main holiday weeks
are usually very dry and hot. Great care must be taken to protect against the
sun's rays particularly on the beach where there is often a cooling breeze to
trap the unwary sun bather. Local Bus Service: One per
day during the summer to Corfu town at very cheap fares for an interesting
non-guided excursion. --about 10.15 a.m. daily (not Sundays) from beach (picks
up outside Theo's) --- return leaves the town at 4.30 p.m. |

Walking: There are
some lovely walks around Agios Georgios to meet the requirements of both keen
walkers and pleasure strollers. These range from walks in the quiet olive
groves and small cultivated fields to longer ones to the headlands overlooking
the bay. An excellent booklet by Lance Chilton with detailed map is usually on
sale at reception. In addition for detailed descriptions of some local walks
The Corfu Trail,
the long-distance walk the length of the island, comes through Agios Georgios
on what some say is the most beautiful section. Being only 200m from the route
Theo's Hotel is sometimes chosen by walkers of this trail, who are doing it
independently, as a comfortable stop-over for one or two nights. Such
short-term guests are welcome. |

The month of May in Corfu is a
beautiful month and many regular visitors love it, especially walkers. The
countryside is fresh and green with many wild flowers (link to flowers which will open new page). Usually
the weather is pleasantly warm with the occasionally rainy day but it can be
hot enough for sunburn. The sea is still cool compared with late summer but
warm enough for some visitors. Visitors in October can often enjoy an
'Indian summer' with many sunny days and blue skies. However there is more
chance some wet days and the occasional Mediterranean storm. The sea is still
warm from the heat of the summer sun. Visitors will enjoy Corfu's 'second
Spring' as thousands of small wild flowers are stirred into life to carpet the
roadsides. |
