SELF-CATERING
Independently
With the availability of so many cheap flights, more
tourists now prefer the independence of arranging their own holidays.
There
is plenty of self catering accommodation in the resort and every taverna and
shop seems to have rooms or Studios.
This is not intended to be a full
listing of all available accommodation as there are so many. However rather
than choosing "blindly" the following details of 3 recommended apartments may
be of use, which I or close friends have stayed in and can speak about from
actual experiences. In addition I list a few other self-catering premises. All
properties are owned by friendly, well respected local people and are
well-known to the owner of the web-site who would not hesitate to rent any of
them if his usual hotel is booked.
IT IS EASY to book and arrange your
holiday so take advantage of cheap flights and be free of the organised
"Package groups". Your holiday is just a couple of telephone calls away ! You
will be booking DIRECT with the owners and so avoid the risks and problems of
unknown Internet Agencies.
Taxis for swift direct transfers are
easily arranged by the apartment owners using proven local firms (providing
flight details are telephoned through), or can be booked on arrival at Corfu
airport (but personal pre-booking is preferable and cheaper).

garden surround. Un-overlooked and situated on quiet country road about 700
metres from beach. Ideal for those wanting a peaceful rather than a beach
situation. Near to small family run hotel for drinks and excellent traditional
Greek evening meals. |

apartments and rooms only about 150 metres from beach. Not overlooked. Fields
at rear and side. Used for film sequence in "Daddy Fox". Perfect for beach
lovers. Several tavernas, restaurants and hotels within easy walking

NOTE: It was reported on British TV that some Internet
based companies appearing to act as agents have no agreement with the
accommodation owner. If he, or she, refuses to pay their demanded commission
the bookings are cancelled without notification to the prospective
guests.
In all cases when booking over the
Internet, even where payment is to be made later direct to the accommodation
owner, the advice was to always CHECK DIRECT with the accommodation owner that
the booking stands, well before travelling.

doing this you will avoid the problems mentioned above.
